The Estate of the late Hannah Cowell was first carved up for auction in 1893, with the original auction by Richardson & Wrench of about 30 lots taking place “on the ground near Gladesville Hotel”

The pub, back then on the corner of Junction Street and The Great Northern Road (now Victoria Road), no longer exists.

The charming Federation “Glenview”, built in 1906 at 30 Cowell Street, Gladesville remains proudly standing to this day.

This time around it didn’t make it to auction, with Richardson & Wrench Gladesville, again the selling agents more than 120 years on, selling the home prior for $2,925 million.
